Objectives:

Plagiarism is an increasing problem in the academic world and we were briefed by the government funded Learn Higher project to create a website giving advice on the dangers of copying material and the benefits of structured referencing.

Solution:

The site aided users to clearly differentiate between plagiarism and structured referencing by providing a series of exercises for 3 levels of learning: student, under graduates and academics with a quick learn or an in-depth option.

We created an interactive website for online learning for the government backed Learn Higher project. 

The best way to learn is through actions not listening and reading so we devised a series of lessons to demonstrate the differences between plagiarism and referencing for different academic levels. Creating not only different tests for each academic level but also a short or long format option encouraged those short on time to check or verify their interpretation of the rules prior to an irreversible exam fail. An incredible 80% of the participants completed the exercises with instances of 'cheating' markedly down the following year.
